Hindi cinema, often known as Bollywood and formerly as Bombay cinema, is the Indian Hindi language film industry based in Mumbai (formerly Bombay). The industry is related to Cinema of South India and other Indian film industries, making up Indian Cinema the world’s largest by number of feature films produced.

 Started Bollywood:-

Bollywood, Hindi-language sector of the Indian movie making industry that began in Bombay  in the 1930s and developed into an enormous film empire. After early Indian experiments in silent film, in 1934 Bombay Talkies, launched by Himansu Rai, spearheaded the growth of Indian cinema.

Bollywood so popular:-

As far as India’s film industry is concerned, it has continued to flourish, growing in popularity, size and reach. The main factor being the affordability of cinema in the country. From the early days onwards, Indian cinema venues have made films accessible to the wider public, providing cheap admission.

City known as Bollywood:-

Mumbai is the main place for all the Indian films. The Indian film industry is called “Bollywood” and its location is in Mumbai. Thus Mumbai is called “The Bollywood City”.

Mumbai, India’s entertainment capital and home to Bollywood, is one of the most prolific centers of film production in the world. Even in India, Bollywood is not the biggest industry in terms of output. Last year, more films were produced in Tamil (262) and Telugu (256) than in Hindi (221).

No 1 actor in Bollywood now:-

Salman Khan tops the list followed by Akshay Kumar on second and Ranveer Singh on third. No1 Hero in the year 2018-19: Salman Khan held on to the number one position!
